Newquay’s Blue Reef Aquarium is launching an expanded scheme to encourage more young families to visit over the winter months.
‘Toddler Tuesdays’ will be taking place during school term time from now until Tuesday 11th February 2014.
Visitors with pre-school children can take advantage of a special reduced admission price of just £7.00 including a free tea or coffee, 10% discount in the shop and a rockpool encounter at 10.30am.
The offer will operate during school term time only and staff are hoping the scheme will help spread the number of visitors more evenly throughout the week while also offering a great value, off-peak visit for local residents.
Blue Reef Aquarium’s Jenni Smith said: “The aquarium has always been a very popular place for parents to bring young children as it offers a safe and controlled environment with lots of visual stimulation for youngsters.
“Many of our displays are designed specially for children to enjoy with portable steps available and we’re also baby-friendly with high chairs, microwaves for baby food and changing facilities on site.
“We’re hoping the ‘Toddler Tuesdays’ will become a regular feature in local families’ diaries where they can enjoy meeting up together,” she added.
Blue Reef is a great place for visitors of all ages to find out more about the wonders of the deep. There’s a full programme of entertaining and informative talks and feeding displays throughout the day.
Over 40 living displays reveal the sheer variety of life in the deep; from tropical sharks and lobsters to seahorses and tropical fish.
Other displays are home to everything from giant Pacific octopus, caiman crocodiles, cuttlefish, piranhas, turtles and terrapins.
