Armed Forces Day is a nationwide celebration of the contributions, both past and present, of those who have served in the British Armed Forces.
All military personnel will be given free entry to the attractions on Saturday, June 29th when accompanied by two other full-paying admissions.
Blue Reef Aquarium’s Chris Ireland said: “Hastings is within easy reach of a huge number of armed forces personnel and we wanted to get involved with the Armed Forces Day celebrations.
“It’s our small way of expressing our gratitude to all those brave men and women who help protect and defend us and we’re looking forward to welcoming many more service personnel through our doors in the coming years.
“The offer is valid to all serving service personnel, they simply have to provide some sort of ID at reception to qualify for their discounted admission,” he added.
Armed Forces Day (formerly Veterans’ Day) is an annual event celebrated in late June to commemorate the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces.
Veterans’ Day was first observed in 2006. Although an official event, it is not a public holiday in the UK. The name was changed to Armed Forces Day in 2009.
This year’s main event is taking place in Nottingham, however there are numerous other events and activities being organised throughout the UK.
