Blue Reef displays supervisor Lara Heaney said: “A lot of local people are not aware how interesting and colourful the UK coastal species are and its great to be able to share this and what better time than St Pirans day”.
After getting to know all about our local habitants, visitors can enjoy the marine life of the exotic waters from the Amazonian displays to the tropical ocean tunnel. There is also a brand new Where in the World trail for the public to take part in and have a chance to win a free family pass.
Species like the Cuckoo Wrasse are one of many colourful fish found in out UK shores. The Wrasse have the ability to change their colours during breeding season and can grow up to 40cm in length. They can be found in rocky shores at a depth of 2 to 200 metres.
