Visitors to Portsmouth’s Blue Reef Aquarium will be able to enjoy spectacular views of the racing during the forthcoming America’s Cup World Series event (July 21st – 24th).
With its prime location overlooking the Solent the Southsea attraction is a great place to watch the racing from.
To celebrate the global event, the aquarium is also offering ‘America’s Cup Special Tickets’ on their website which are valid for either Saturday or Sunday only. All tickets will cost £8 and the offer will be online from 2pm on Friday.
The event is set to be one of the most closely contested in recent years with tens of thousands of fans descending on the city to watch the giant 45-foot-long flying catamarans battling for supremacy.
Six teams will be fighting it out over the weekend including, Land Rover BAR led by Sir Ben Ainslie, Oracle Team USA, Artemis Racing, SoftBank Team Japan, Emirates Team New Zealand and Groupama Team France.
Blue Reef Aquarium’s Lindsay Holloway said: “There really is no better viewpoint and we’re looking forward to being right at the heart of the action.
“Fans who want to come and watch more than one day’s racing could save money by buying one of our annual passes which offers unlimited free entry for a year along with a series of other benefits including discounts in our shop.
“As well as our special online America’s Cup Special ticket offer all existing annual pass holders will also be admitted free” he added.
As Clarence Esplanade is closed to the east of the aquarium visitors are advised to either purchase America’s Cup parking or use the Park and Ride service.
Access to the aquarium can be reached from Avenue de Caen.
