Portsmouth’s Blue Reef Aquarium is inviting visitors to have a revolting time as part of their Yuck! Easter (Friday, April 3rd – Sunday, April 19th).
The Southsea attraction is running a special event dedicated to some of the animal world’s most disgusting members. As well as finding out all the frightful facts and horrible habits of the animals that live in our seas, there will also be the opportunity to get ‘yucky mucky’ with a series of hands-on experiments. Don’t miss the chance to meet a selection of creepy-crawlies in special Yucky Animal Encounters – find out all about their horrible habits and even get a chance to get to grips with them under the expert supervision of the aquarists. You’ll even be able to find out how to make your very own slime in special Yuck! workshops. The aquarium’s very own ‘Bug Man’ will also be making a special appearance on April 8th and 15th along with his personal collection of giant bugs and insects.
Blue Reef’s Jenna MacFarlane said: “We’re all fascinated by the more disgusting aspects of the animal kingdom and so we decided to dedicate an entire event to the things that make you go ‘yuck’! From fishy slime and starfish that throw up their own stomachs to gelatinous jellyfish and the disgusting dinners we feed our aquatic inhabitants there’s loads of gross goings-on,” she added.
There will also be a series of other themed activities taking place daily including Rockpool encounters, special talks and animal feeds. ‘Yuck! Week’ is taking place daily at Portsmouth’s Blue Reef Aquarium from Friday, April 3rd – Sunday, April 19th. For more information visit www.bluereefaquarium.co.uk or call 02392 875222.
