School Trips

We’re proud to say that we welcome more than 40,000 school children each year here at Blue Reef Aquarium Portsmouth, making us one of the largest marine-based educational resources in the country for local schools, colleges and beyond.

Our school trip programme makes for a fun and educational day out that’ll take your pupils on a journey to explore the drama of the British coast, the underwater gardens of the Mediterranean, and the dazzling beauty of a spectacular coral reef.

In fact, a Blue Reef educational visit offers…

Not to mention we’re home to over 40 living displays, revealing the sheer variety of life in the deep – from otters and eels to seahorses and tropical fish – so there’s plenty to see and do here.

Rockpool Encounter

Quick tip: Be sure to coordinate your trip to include our feeding times, where you’ll get to learn more about the sea creatures inhabiting our rockpools and ask any questions of our expert team of aquarists.

Shark Workshop

In our shark workshop, we share some of the most fascinating facts about the apex predators that may stun, surprise, or even scare you! Learn all about various shark species and whether or not they deserve the ferocious reputations they’re known for. But that’s not all, you’ll also get to see some genuine ‘shark-tefacts’ at close hand too.
