Introducing Ant and Dec, the cheeky baby monkeys…

We have  recently welcomed two new arrivals, a pair of twin baby marmosets. These adorable baby monkeys were born here earlier in October to parents Miko and Minnie.

When it came to naming the twins we opened it up to members of the public who had some brilliant suggestions.

After careful deliberation there could only be one winner, with Julie Charlton saying ‘Surely it has to be Ant and Dec’ and we couldn’t agree more.

Marketing Manager at Blue Reef, Mark Sand said “After watching these two interact with each other Ant and Dec seemed like such fitting names”

“They are very entertaining to watch and are rarely seen apart, so there are many comparisons we can draw between these two and the real Ant and Dec.”

Short in stature but big in personality the new additions are sure to be as popular as the legendary Geordie duo.

These cute new twins are smaller then your hand and are slowly developing their own personalities. These tiny monkeys are native to the Amazon Rainforest and only grow to around 30cm tall as adults.

These two are the latest new arrivals after the birth of their brothers earlier in the year.

The new monkeys can be seen at Blue Reef Tynemouth every day and you can find out more about them and the other species of monkeys on display at the daily talk and feed.
