The Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth offers many group visits to suit all age groups and abilities, with the aim of giving the opportunity for groups to learn about the different and amazing marine life in our seas and oceans around the world.
Over 40 living displays reveal the sheer variety of life in the deep; from graceful stingrays and tropical sharks to otters, frogs and seahorses.
Visit our naturally-themed seal cove which includes rocky haul out areas along with a whole host of other environmental enrichment features to ensure our curious and highly intelligent harbour seals are kept in near natural conditions.
Step into the incredible world of the tropical rainforest with this stunning Amazonian feature. Meet our colony of adorable monkeys; including tiny pygmy marmosets and comical-looking cotton topped tamarins. Watch our beautiful iguanas and fascinating frogs.
Group visit’s last for approximately 3 hours with set arrival times, exploring times and a time is given for a Rockpool encounter- this gives the group a chance to meet some of our weird and wonderful creatures! There is also a packed lunchtime included in your visit (Indoor packed lunch area is available in term time only) Packed lunches are also available from our cafe. These can be pre ordered when making your booking if required).
The last 30 minutes of your visit are available for using the gift shop at the Aquarium. Souvenir packs are also available upon request.
