Junior Aquarist Experience

Join our team of aquarists and bring out your inner marine enthusiast, as you take part in an experience that you certainly won’t forget.

Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the aquarium and dive deep into the wonders of the ocean and discover the mysteries of the deep blue sea. You’ll be joined by a senior aquarist who will share their expert knowledge of the fascinating creatures they care for and the wonderful creatures you’ll meet. These include rays, red-bellied piranha and seahorses.

Get your kitchen skills at the ready because you’ll even be helping to prepare lunch for the fishes and take part in specialist work required to care for the creatures. If that isn’t enough, then you’ll also be given a year’s free membership to Blue Reef Aquarium.

Junior Aquarist Experience (£80) – For all those mini marine biologists in the making! Ages 7 and over can enjoy this 2 hour behind the scenes visit with your chance to help feed some of our displays. This voucher is for one Junior Aquarist and one compulsory accompanying adult. Any additional accompanying adults or children would be required to purchase a Junior Aquarist Add on guest ticket. (After purchasing the Experience you will be required to phone Blue Reef Aquarium to book a date. Please note at least 2 weeks notice is needed to arrange correct staffing.)

Junior Aquarist Add on guest (£40)– For additional guests joining the Junior Aquarist and accompanying adult. Please bear in mind that your total experience group number can not exceed 5 people. (After purchasing the Experience you will be required to phone Blue Reef Aquarium to book a date. Please note at least 2 weeks notice is needed to arrange correct staffing.)
