Visitors to Newquay’s Blue Reef Aquarium had the opportunity to find out all about the conservation work being undertaken by the RSPB in Cornwall.
The wildlife charity spent the day at the Towan Promenade aquarium with a stand illustrating the different conservation work and projects they are currently involved with.
The visit also enabled them to raise awareness of the different aspects of their work which includes marine conservation and wildlife.
Blue Reef Aquarium’s Melissa Hallam said: “The common misconception is that the RSPB is a charity entirely dedicated to bird life.
“However their work actually incorporates a wide range of much more general conservation and, in particular here in Cornwall, a great deal of marine wildlife.
“This event was a great opportunity for all of us to see the different types of projects they are doing in the county and for them to also raise awareness among our visitors
“It was a really interesting visit and we are looking forward to working more closely with them in the future,” she added.

Over 40 naturally-themed displays transport visitors from rocky Cornish shores to exotic coral reefs.
At the aquarium’s heart is a amazing ocean tank with underwater walkthrough tunnel which is home to hundreds of colourful fish, tropical sharks and Omiros the rescued loggerhead turtle.
Other displays feature everything from giant Pacific octopus, seahorses and lobsters to cuttlefish, piranhas and caiman crocodiles.
