Part-time Maintenance Assistant
Blue Reef Aquarium, situated in an idyllic setting on Towan Beach in the centre of Newquay, is looking for a pro-active, customer focused individual to join us as a Maintenance Assistant.
The Role …
This is a varied and integral role in the aquarium. You will be required to carry out general maintenance duties in the aquarium such as painting, plumbing, carpentry and basic fixing of equipment. Our Company is responsible for ensuring our leased area of Towan Promenade is presentable at all times and is safe for all members of the public. This is where you come in as you are responsible for maintaining the exterior and interior of the Aquarium during your working day.

As well as maintaining the aquarium and promenade areas , you will be expected to deal with visitors in a friendly, approachable and knowledgeable manner ensuring their visit is a memorable one.
This post is a part-time/fixed contract until the end of October 2016, working 24 hours a week, NMW/ NLW.
About You
It is essential that you have some general maintenance experience or relevant qualification.
Previous maintenance experience from any customer based background will also stand you in good stead but above all we’re looking for the right attitude, good communication skills and a personality that will put a smile on our customer’s faces throughout their visit!
You will be a team player with a keen interest in working as part of a highly motivated team.
You will relish a challenge, with a positive attitude, taking pride in your work and personal appearance. You will have a keen interest in working with the public and being part of a highly motivated team.
